One of our favourites – because this is our backyard. This tour needs to be on your ‘must-do’ NZ adventures list.
The Abel Tasman National Park is an absolute treasure. Golden sandy beaches, regenerating native bush, lots of birdsong, rocky outcrops and little islands. The Abel Tasman Coastal Track is one of DOC’s great walks – which really says it all. While we row along the coastline, we can stop often on little beaches, and walk sections of the Coastal track to enjoy the National Park from both land and sea.
We choose to row in the Park in later Autumn, when the water is calm, the weather is usually settled, and most of the tourists are gone. Let us show you around. This would be an ideal trip for couples where one rows and one does not. The non-rower could walk the Abel Tasman track and meet the rowers at the Lodge each evening, with launch support as required.
For this tour we are working with the team at Wilsons’ Abel Tasman, so we will blend our rowing equipment and experience, and their beachfront lodges and culinary expertise. Add in your energy, and the beautiful landscapes of this magic corner of Aotearoa, and it all adds up to a wonderful trip.
Be in Nelson bright and early on May 5 for your transfer to Kaiteriteri. We will stay the first and fourth nights in Torrent Bay Lodge, and the middle two nights at Meadowbank Homestead in Awaroa Inlet. All accommodation is double or twin with ensuite rooms. We will bring you back to Nelson late in the afternoon on May 9.
Don’t wait too long, this tour is selling quickly. Email Sally to register your interest.
